Ribble Valley business closures left over £17,000 in unpaid rates, councillors told
Over £17,000 in unpaid business rates look set to be written-off by Ribble Valley councillors this week.
The company was dissolved, which is the last stage of the liquidation process, when a company or part of a company is ended and its assets and property are redistributed, the report adds. Meanwhile, Virtual Distribution Ltd, based at Time Technology Park in Simonstone, owed £2,608 when it went into liquidation.
"However, there are some cases where debtors simply leave their property with arrears and where we have no forwarding address, or are declared bankrupt, insolvent or cease trading."
