A 20-year-old Wilmer man is facing up to 10 years in state prison after investigators say he deliberately shot and killed a dog with a crossbow and wounding another.

Court and jail records show Cody Monroe Brown was arrested Oct. 25 and charged with aggravated animal cruelty in the incident. Information on the dog’s owners or condition of the wounded dog were not immediately available.On the same day as the crossbow incident, investigators say he attempted to run over another Wilmer man with a golf cart “creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury,” according to court documents.After deputies executed the arrest warrants on Brown Oct.
