The bill, which would ban critical race theory in K-12 public schools and Mississippi's public universities, went on to pass by a vote of 32-2.to be enacted into law, given it has the support of the state’s Republican House Speaker and Gov. ”Should the bill be enacted into law, Mississippi would become at least the tenth state to ban the teaching of critical race theory, according to the Brookings Institution.for Republicans across the country last year, after it became a culture war talking point among conservative media. The theory holds that American governmental entities are inherently biased against people of color, claiming racism is systemically ingrained into U.S. institutions.
