A Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One video shows a behind-the-scenes look at how the epic train sequence was filmed. The first half of a two-part adventure, the seventh movie in the franchise finds Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt embarking on his dangerous mission yet when he is confronted by a powerful enemy played by Esai Morales. Dead Reckoning Part One will also feature some of the franchise's wildest stunts yet, including one epic sequence involving a train.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Ahead of Mission: Impossible 7's release date later this month, a new video released by Paramount Pictures reveals an extended behind-the-scenes look at the making of its epic train sequence. Watch the video below: With director Christopher McQuarrie recounting the entire history of the sequence, the video shows footage of Cruise and Morales fighting atop the speeding train before it crashes off a bridge, both of which were done for real. McQuarrie claims, "No one else in the world is doing this level of practical filmmaking, and it may never be done again."
Mission: Impossible 7's Train Stunt Wasn't Easy To Accomplish Mission: Impossible 7's train stunt, which was conceived as a reference to the climactic train wreck from the 1926 film The General, was plagued with problems before filming even started. The train wreck was originally going to be shot in the Alps, though the Swiss government refused to authorize any explosions.
