Years after Williams’ high-profile firing from The Ticket in 2007, he’ll join Mike Rhyner Wednesday for an on-air ‘How you been?’
Mike Rhyner and Greg Williams, who had a high-profile split on KTCK/The Ticket in 2007, are set to reunite Wednesday on iHeartRadio’s The Freak 97.1 FM., The Ticket’s afternoon drive-time show. They reigned in their time slot from November 1996 to October 2007 when Williams was fired for erratic behavior that stemmed from substance abuse.
Their on-air reconciliation comes as radio stations are vying for higher ratings going into the holidays.from 3 to 7 p.m. on a remote at The Diamond Factory in Dallas. On his show Tuesday, Rhyner said that, after years of a cold relationship with Williams, he’s come around to having him as a guest.— the unthinkable happens — a radio reunion no one ever imagined.
