Microsoft stock rises as results top estimates
Microsoft Corp. shares rose in the extended session Wednesday after the tech giant topped Wall Street estimates for the quarter led by strong gains in its cloud services.
The company reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $8.81 billion, or $1.14 a share, compared with $7.42 billion, or 95 cents a share, in the year-ago period.Analysts surveyed by FactSet had forecast earnings of $1 a share on revenue of $29.88 billion.
