Photo: 2020 NBCUniversal Media, LLC As presenter Tiffany Haddish shouted “Preach!” off-camera, Michelle Williams used her allotted Golden Globes acceptance speech time wisely, as she always does, by getting real about a woman’s right to choose, political representation and the need for a government to look as female as the population it represents, all while accepting this year’s award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her turn in Fosse/Verdon.
“I’m grateful for the acknowledgement of the choices I’ve made, and I’m also grateful to have lived at a moment in our society when choice exists, because as women and as girls, things can happen to our bodies that not our choice,” Williams explained.
