Michelle McManus was crowned the Pop Idol winner 18 years ago
Michelle McManus wowed the nation with her singing skills 18 years ago when she competed on, and won, Pop Idol.
The singer shared a series of photos from her time on the show, including a throwback snap of herself holding up branded Pop Idol flags which encouraged fans to "vote Michelle". The final photo saw Michelle in action as she is seen clutching onto a microphone while singing on stage. The Glasgow-born singer beat Mark Rhodes to the Pop Idol title in the final of the second and last series of the talent competition.
She was later dropped by her label BMG a year after her win. But, she then went on to found her own record label McMannii Records in 2007.
