It was a thrilling night in Govan and Beale is backing his boys to take the second leg to the Dutch.
Michael Beale saluted his Rangers side for standing up to the challenge of a classy PSV Eindhoven side as he set his sights on completing the Champions League job in Holland.
And Beale said: “I don’t think they’ll underestimate us but they better not because we’ll take our away fans and our form away from in Europe is strong. This PSV team haven’t lost since February and we were very close to beating them. They’re a team highly assembled in terms of finance. We had a right go. There’s areas I’d like us to get better in but I saw a lot of good signs in my team.
“The front three worked really hard. Cyriel Dessers had his best performance for Rangers so far. You can see he’s up to speed and he took the two centre halves on physically. He won the battle because he got two assists and it was I delighted for Abdallah Sima with the goal. There was moments in the game I’d have liked us to stay in possession of the ball more but you have to think of the magnitude of the game. We scored fantastic goals and were unlucky not to get a third.
