Mexico’s national soccer team is indeed coming to Snapdragon Stadium next month, just on a different day against a different opponent than originally reported.playing Iceland on June 11. One had the opponent as Ecuador. Instead, El Tri will face Cameroon on Saturday, June 10, at 7 p.m. according to an official announcement Thursday from Soccer United Marketing, the company that promotes Mexico’s annual exhibition tour in the United States.
“Of course, I make mistakes,” Hernandez, who now plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy of MLS, told Fox Sports recently. “If I’m the first to get something wrong, I can say to you that I made an error. The price I paid was very high. I got made an example of when should have been a lot less.Cocca presumably will have to get permission from the Galaxy if he wants Hernandez against Cameroon. The Galaxy is scheduled to play at St. Louis City the following day.
The June 10 game at Snapdragon will serve as a tune-up for the June 18 semifinals of the CONCACAF Nations League against the United States in Las Vegas. That’s not to be confused with the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the region’s biennial championship for men’s national teams that will host a July 12 semifinal at Snapdragon Stadium.
