Carlos Carrasco, who allowed eight runs, is taken out of the game by Buck Showalter during the third inning of the Mets’ 11-6 loss to the Nationals.The inning ended with Carrasco being booed off the mound, a sound that has become common at Citi Field during a season in which the Mets were expected to get to the playoffs for a second consecutive year and instead has found them giving up before August.
The Mets hit a pair of homers off lefty Patrick Corbin, who entered with a 5.01 ERA and hasn’t been effective since 2019.
