A similar warning is in force across the region for tomorrow
The Met Office has issued a Boxing Day weather warning for ice covering Greater Manchester - with a similar alert in force for tomorrow, Tuesday.
The Met Office predicted the chance of 'some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces' and warned of icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. A Met office forecaster said: "Wintry showers will continue through this evening but as skies clear, patchy ice is expected to develop on some untreated surfaces.
