After the devastating impact of Storm Babet, more bad weather is on its way tomorrow
A fresh Met Office warning for heavy rain has been issued in Leeds after widespread disruption caused by Storm Babet over the weekend.
The yellow warning for heavy rain comes into effect from 3am tomorrow and will stay in effect until around 4pm. The warning covers an area including Sheffield, Rotherham, Leeds, York and Hull. Those within the warning area are told that a further 30-50mm of rain could fall on Tuesday, adding to the flooding that has already damaged local communities. The forecaster said the extent of the heavy rain remains unclear but the risk posed by already saturated conditions means that more flooding is possible. The Met Office warning says: "An area of rain, some of which will be heavy, will move north across the region during Tuesday morning.
"10-20 mm of rain is expected to fall fairly widely, but a few places could see 30-50 mm; these higher totals more likely in Lincolnshire and Humberside."
