Benjamin Mendy asked ‘how many stories like this do you have’ when he was arrested for rape, court told
Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy allegedly asked police “How many stories like this do you have?” when he was arrested and cautioned for rape. According to an officer who went to Mendy's house, the footballer, 28, asked the question as he was being arrested for allegedly raping a woman three times in his “locked” bedroom during a party in October 2020.
The woman claimed she repeatedly told Mendy she did not want to have sex with him during the incident but said he told her: “Well the door’s locked anyway” and told her to strip down to her underwear. The court heard the woman attended a rape crisis centre the next day and reported Mendy to police several weeks later in November that year. Mendy was then arrested by police at his “isolated” home, known as The Spinney, on November 11.
