Meghan Markle “made it clear” she didn’t need any help from Sophie Wessex to adjust to royal life despite a suggestion from the Queen, a book claimed.
But, according to a new book by author Gyles Brandreth, the late Queen Elizabeth II suggested her daughter-in-law Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, show Meghan “the ropes” as royal life can be "challenging to begin with". An extract of the book, titled Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, published in the Mail on Sunday said: “The Queen understood that Harry's girl might find adjusting to Royal life 'challenging to begin with' . 'It is very jolty, but you soon get used to it' – that was Her Majesty's experience going back many years.
Sophie, who grew up in a middle-class family and founded a PR firm before joining the Royal Family, had previously been compared to Meghan. Both underwent huge transitions upon joining the family.
