She's found her calling
A Blackpool woman has created a 'hedgehog hospital' which looks after up to 600 sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs every year.
"I began reading up on how to care for hedgehogs and that was it. I nursed this little one back to health. Of course it could have gone the other way. In 2017, as she took on more and more poorly hedgehogs, Jean took the plunge and invested £10,000 of her savings into setting up the veterinary pods and incubators needed to look after the hedgehogs.
"The charity keeps growing, growing and growing. We now have volunteers that come every morning. We have maybe 50 fosterers who look after the hedgehogs to get them to the right weight before we release them. We have 60 release sites now. I couldn't do it without people.
