Janessa Goldbeck, Paul McQuigg, Monica Montgomery Steppe and Amy Reichert want to be the next San Diego County Supervisor in District 4.
Four candidates are running in the special election to replace Nathan Fletcher in District 4 on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors and fill the rest of his term into January 2027. Voting starts July 17 and ends Aug. 15. There will be a fall runoff if no one wins a majority of votes.
The San Diego Union-Tribune Editorial Board, which operates independently from the U-T newsroom but holds itself to similar ethical standards, interviewed each candidate via email and Zoom to help make an endorsement in the race.
