.RuPaul is introducing his newest persona RubyRed in the trailer for 'AJ and the Queen'
. But get ready, because next year, Ru wants you to get to know his newest persona: Ruby Red.
After months of teasing, on Tuesday , Netflix finally released the first teaser for the upcoming scripted series starring RuPaul himself. The 30-second clip doesn't offer much in the way of plot information, but it does give audiences a glimpse into Ru's character Ruby, a high-fashion drag performer pulling off quite a few stunning looks throughout the trailer.
The teaser also finally gave fans the premiere date that they have long been asking for, revealing thatwill be available to stream on Netflix starting Jan. 10. According to a press release, the show will follow Robert Lee , a down-on-his-luck drag queen who is swindled out of his savings and forced to embark on a cross-country roadshow as Ruby Red to get back what he lost.
Fans can also expect to see some new material from RuPaul for the show. Not only does the trailer feature a new song by the superstar, but the release also promises that each episode will feature a new performance by Mama Ru.
