The McLaren Artura is driven by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and an electric motor delivering a combined 671 hp

While one could argue that the launch of the Artura has been overshadowed by the Ferrari 296 GTB, the Artura still represents a big leap forward over the 570S that it replaced in McLaren’s line-up. Not only is it the brand’s first hybrid after the iconic P1 but it also rocks a new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 as opposed to the twin-turbo V8 of its predecessor.

This engine is good for 577 hp on its own and when supplemented with the electric motor, the Artura is good for an impressive 671 hp at 7,500 rpm and 531 lb-ft of torque at 2,250 rpm.The 1-minute long clip shows an orange and a blue Artura powersliding and drifting around the famed Top Gear test track in the UK. We don’t know who was driving the cars at the time but clearly, they are very skilled behind the wheel, leaving tire marks in the shape of a ‘60’ on the track.

While the Artura is often compared with the more powerful Ferrari 296 GTB, it’s worth remembering that the McLaren starts at $237,500, making it considerably cheaper than the 296 GTB which is priced at $338,255.
