Mayor Bass signed her fourth Executive Directive to urgently identify burdensome processes and fees that impede small business creation, development and growth in Los Angeles.
Thursday signed her fourth executive directive to promote small business creation, development and growth throughout the city.
"People want to start and grow their businesses in Los Angeles, but over the years, City Hall has made those dreams harder to achieve by requiring fees upon fees and a complicated and time-consuming approval process," Bass said in a statement. The directive states that there are more than 460,000 businesses in the city, the majority of which are small businesses that were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The LABSC will be composed of representatives from L.A. city departments and led by the mayor's Office of Business and Economic Development.Mayor Karen Bass is vowing to end street homelessness in Los Angeles by 2026.
