The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has insisted the official inquiry into the handling of the pandemic is the right place to handle any questions – after allegations were raised about Matt Hancock’s actions as health secretary. The claims emerged amid the leak of a hundred thousand whatsapp messages to the Daily Telegraph.
Mr Hancock has denied claims that he rejected clinical advice concerning care home residents at the start of the pandemic.
