One forgotten storyline from the MCU's Phase 2 will be crucial to Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion, as the series finally solved Iron Man 3's decade-long mystery. Secret Invasion episode 2, "Promises," released on Disney+ on June 28, 2023, and started to uncover more details about Gravik and the Skrull rebellion's plans.

Trailers for Secret Invasion teased the Super Skrull, but since the Fantastic Four won't appear until 2025, Marvel Studios has had to cleverly redesign the Skrull warrior's abilities.
Secret Invasion Finally Gave Extremis Closure In The MCU To represent Johnny Storm's pyrokinetic abilities for the MCU's Super Skrull, the Skrull rebellion appears to have acquired Extremis. Extremis was first introduced back in 2013's Iron Man 3, an advanced form of genetic manipulation which had been created using nanotechnology by Maya Hansen and Aldrich Killian.
Through complex metabolic processes, users of Extremis can generate extreme amounts of heat, which often leads to their bodies becoming unstable and exploding. However, these intense levels of heat perhaps make Extremis the perfect replacement for the Human Torch's power in the MCU's Super Skrull, and its reappearance in Secret Invasion episode 2 finally brings closure to Iron Man 3's Extremis mystery - as the serum hadn't been seen since the Phase 2 film.
How The Super Skrulls Got Hold Of Extremis In Secret Invasion Extremis' appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings proved the serum is still potentially widespread in the MCU, and so the Skrulls could have easily attained some, particularly since they can disguise themselves as anybody.
