A host of leading GAA figures turned out for the 'Legends4Lyncho' event in Newry last July which raised money and awareness of Motor Neurone Disease
Tributes have poured in following news of the passing of former Down player and MND campaigner Martin Lynch.
In July, Martin’s St John Bosco hosted the #Legends4Lyncho fundraiser with the likes of DJ Kane, Mickey Linden, Sean Cavanagh, Oisin McConville, Steven McDonell, Benny Tierney and Marty Clarke among those who suported the event. Martin captained the Down team to an Ulster U21 Football Championship title in 1984 and featured on the Down senior squad in the late 80s.A keen athlete, Martin also took part in a number of triathlons and won an All-Ireland masters cycling event as well as a host of cup titles with Carnbane League side Newry Celtic.
