The finance guru reminded customers that energy bills are set to cost households more than they did last winter.
Martin Lewis has issued a warning to energy customers who pay their monthly bill with a Direct Debit - one of the most common ways to pay.
As reported Chronicle Live, he wrote to energy customers, saying: "While the cost of energy will be on average 23% less than this time last year, the state isn't giving homes the £400 subsidy it did last winter. Martin's MSE site states: "The regulator's licence conditions set out guidelines for 'fair and reasonable' direct debits."
This lets customers roughly figure out how much they should be paying for energy, based on who they're with and how much is used. He said: "If you pay by monthly DD, at this time of year it's appropriate to have a couple of months' worth built up as credit, so check how much you've got.
