'There's no back-date to how far back you can reclaim, there are a lot of people out there who may be due money'
Martin Lewis says people with a student loan may be able to claim up to thousands of pounds back with just one phone call.
"I'm Martin Lewis from MoneySavingExpert.com . Recently, my team put in a Freedom of Information request to the Student Loans Company . Martin then read out an email she got from a woman called Charlotte after he posted about the tip in his weekly Martin Lewis MSE email. She described how she made 'one phone call' to the Student Loans Company and found she had overpaid seven years ago during her first job.Martin then said that 833,000 people in the last year repaid their student loan even though they didn't earn enough to qualify for repayments.
"If that happened, you repaid your student loan when you needn't have done so. So you are eligible to take that money back."
