O’Shaquie Foster outpoints Rey Vargas to win main event

Barrios appeared to get stronger — and in greater control — as the fight progressed. He bloodied Santiago’s nose in the third with a crisp right hand, and finished the job in the eighth by dropping Santiago with a body shot, then followed up with a big right hand.Both fighters entered the night with two-fight losing streaks.
“I may have been a bit too conservative,” Santiago, 33, said. “I didn’t throw enough punches. That’s the bottom line.”Orange native and Houston resident O’Shaquie Foster outboxed Mexico’s Rey Vargas over 12 rounds to win a unanimous decision and the vacant WBC junior lightweight title.
