CLEVELAND, Ohio – A police chase Thursday morning involving Maple Heights officers led to a three-car crash that sent the drivers to the hospital.
The pursuit began in the morning hours when an officer attempted to pull over a gray Jeep Cherokee near Broadway Avenue and Libby Road. The driver of the Jeep handled the vehicle recklessly and lacked a license plate, police said. Police also believe the vehicle was involved in other crimes in the Garfield Heights and Cleveland area.
The driver led officers onto Lee Road. The pursuit left Maple Heights and headed into Cleveland, police said. When the pursuit reached Judson Drive and Lee Road, the Jeep and a police cruiser went around another car that was headed north on Lee Road. As the car attempted to turn into the Rally’s parking lot, another police cruiser arrived in the area and struck the front end of the car.
