The result is that the main characters have been put in nearly every imaginable comedic scenario, and the familiar gang has even taken to playing alter-egos on occasion.
Mantis Toboggan, M.D. Is Frank's Alter-Ego In It's Always Sunny Always out hunting for a new angle, Frank is the show's resident chameleon, and he has donned a wealth of amazing alter-egos such as the bewigged art critic Ongo Gablogian or the cut-throat businessman known as "The Warthog". However, in season 5, episode 10, "The D.E.N.N.I.S. System", Frank introduced perhaps his most devious and dangerous side character, Mantis Toboggan.
Mantis Toboggan Appeared In Three It's Always Sunny Episodes Unlike other Frank alter-egos who only appeared in one episode, Mantis Toboggan wasn't limited to his turn in "the D.E.N.N.I.S. System".
In what was perhaps his most dangerous stunt, Frank donned his Mantis Toboggan guise again in season 10, episode 1, "The Gang Beats Boggs" when a drunken Frank pretended to be his M.D. alter ego when a flight attendant calls for a doctor on an airplane. That was after he drugged another passenger to stop him from cutting into the beer supply, and he would later erroneously claim to be a pilot.
