Anthony Novak’s attorneys filed their appeal Monday to the country’s high court to try and reverse an appeals court decision that found Parma officers’ qualified immunity shielded them from the lawsuit.

The appeal, filed by attorney Subodh Chandra and attorneys for the Institute for Justice, said that the case is ripe for the Supreme Court to take up because appeals courts across the country have decided similar cases differently.
