Man stabs woman in neck in San Marcos in suspected domestic assault [Breaking]
A man stabbed a woman in the neck in front of a childcare center Thursday morning in San Marcos in a suspected domestic violence incident, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
The stabbing happened around 9:20 a.m. on West San Marcos Boulevard near North Twin Oaks Valley Road, according to San Diego sheriff’s Lt. Ryan Wisniewski, who said investigators believed the couple had a child inside the daycare center and the incident involved some sort of custody dispute. Paramedics took the woman to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening, Wisniewski said. The 25-year-old suspect fled and remained at large Thursday afternoon.
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the incident as a domestic violence attempted murder, Wisniewski said.
