A man in his 20s was taken to hospital last week after being hit by a two-litre carton of apple juice thrown at him by a stranger in Corby. The impact of the drinks carton left the man with serious injuries and the police are now launching an investigation.
in Greenhill Rise, near the junction with Gainsborough Road last Wednesday, April 26, when the attack occurred. At around 12.15pm a man walking past threw the two-litre drink carton at him without any warning or interaction. The carton of apple juice hit the young man and caused his hip to dislocate. Northamptonshire Police confirmed he was taken to hospital over his injuries but is believed to be back at home now.The Force is treating the attack as assault and are now appealing for information and witnesses to come forward and assist with their investigation.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged around 40. He had short dark hair and was wearing a red T-shirt or jumper. The suspect was with two other men of approximately the same age, one of whom was wearing an all-white tracksuit. A spokesperson from Northants Police said: "Anyone who saw what happened, or who has information about the assault, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
