The area in Glasgow was taped off
We previously reported that emergency services were called to Shettleston Road shortly after 2pm on Tuesday.The name of the venue was not confirmed but the Railway Tavern was taped off.has now said he has been taken to hospital.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.10pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, police were called to a report of a fire at a premises in the Shettleston Road area of Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.An eyewitness previously told The Glasgow Times:"There is a large police presence and there is a fire alarm going off.Nearby Killin Street was also subjected to a police cordon but officers have since reopened it. It closed from Shettleston Road to Gatehouse Street.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:"We were requested at 2.15pm on Tuesday, May 16 to assist our emergency service partners at a premises on Glasgow's Shettleston Road. "Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the area, where firefighters worked to support their partners before leaving the scene."
