Man punches San Diego police officer in the face in Pacific Beach [Breaking]
A San Diego police officer was taken to a hospital after a man punched the officer in the face in a Pacific Beach parking lot Tuesday morning, a lieutenant said.
Officers responded around 9 a.m. to a call about a man who had been sleeping in a business parking lot on Garnet Avenue near Fannuel Street for several days. According to OnScene TV footage, the incident occurred in a parking lot near a Wells Fargo bank.When officers arrived, they talked to the man. While the officers searched law enforcement databases to check whether the man was wanted in connection with any crimes, he tried to walk away, Sharki said.
The officer who was punched was taken to a hospital for treatment, Sharki said. An update on the officer’s condition was not available Tuesday afternoon.
