He was told by the Judge: 'Your behaviour on the day in question was utterly reprehensible.'
A 25-year old with a history of assaulting police was jailed for two years on Thursday for attacking three constables during an arrest for a domestic incident.
Before he was led from the dock and into custody by prison staff, Glennon was told by the Judge: "Your behaviour on the day in question was utterly reprehensible." At 1.50pm that day, police located Glennon sitting on the ground at Colmcille Road with a bottle of Buckfast beside him. Officers called for a cell van to be sent to the scene and as they were waiting, Glennon headbutted one Constable then spat blood on a second Constable before punching him in the face.
Downpatick Crown Court, sitting in Belfast, heard that when interviewed about his actions Glennon gave a no comment response to police. Revealing that 27 of Glennon's 170 previous convictions were for assaults on police, Judge Miller said this highlighted his "appalling record for inflicting injuries on police officers."
