He's being treated for his injuries
A 30-year-old man is in hospital following a serious collision on a stretch of the A45 near Northampton. The crash, which involved one vehicle, shut the eastbound carriageway of the major road for seven hours.
The incident occurred just before 2.45am yesterday, Sunday, October 9, Northamptonshire Police said. The car, a BMW, was on the slip road from the A45 up to Lumbertubs Way, near Riverside Park, when it crashed. No other vehicles were involved. Officers closed the slip road and a section of the eastbound A45 following the incident.The driver, from Oxfordshire, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to University Hospital Coventry for treatment, where he remains today.
Northants Police announced in the early hours that motorists should "avoid the A45 slip to A43 Lumbertubs Way" whilst they dealt with an "incident". They said the section of the road would be closed "for the foreseeable future." After 7 hours, officers announced the incident had been cleared, and the road was reopened at around 9am.At NorthantsLive we're more than just news.
