Officers raced to the Hurlford Road area of the town at around 6am this morning to a report of a concern for a person.

Officials say that the death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6am on Friday, August 25, to a report of a concern for person in the Hurlford Road area of Kilmarnock.“The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
