A man is in hospital fighting for his life after a serious crash on a main road in Rochdale. Emergency services were called to the scene on Whitworth Road at around 10.45pm on Wednesday night .
Police blocked off the road, at the junction with St Mary's Gate for a number of hours as investigations were carried out at the scene. A car was also pictured within the cordon with a smashed window, with paramedics also attending the incident. One man was rushed to hospital from the scene with life-threatening injuries. He remains there fighting for his life following the collision. Investigations into the collision are continuing and no arrests have been made.A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to the scene of a road traffic accident between two vehicles at approximately 10.45pm on Wednesday 8 February 2023, on Whitworth Road in Rochdale.
"Colleagues from NWAS also attended. A man had sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident and is currently being treated at hospital. No arrests have yet been made and investigations are ongoing."
