‘Shots fired’ at the Mall at Prince George’s, Hyattsville police say
Just before 5 p.m., the Hyattsville Police Department said on social media that there was no ongoing threat to the community and officers had secured the scene. Police advised people to avoid the area and said more information will be released as it is available.
HPD is responding to a report of shots fired at the Mall at Prince George's. Please avoid the area. More info as it becomes available.“While this is an isolated incident, we are nonetheless troubled,” a spokesperson for the Mall at Prince George’s said in a statement, adding that they are “working collaboratively” with law enforcement as officers investigate.The mall announced it would be closed for the rest of Thursday and is expected to open Friday morning at 10 a.m.
