A 29-year-old man has been charged to appear in court after a dog was reportedly found injured and partially buried in Derry earlier this week.
He is scheduled to appear before Dungannon Magistrates' Court on Saturday accused of causing unnecessary suffering to animals, and four counts of failing to take reasonable steps to ensure the needs of an animal.The incident, at Ballyarnett Country Park in Derry, was reported to the PSNI on Wednesday.
A police spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old man has been charged to appear in court with offences including causing unnecessary suffering to animals, and four counts of failing to take reasonable steps to ensure the needs of an animal. "He is scheduled to appear before Dungannon Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Saturday 18th March. As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
