New Braunfels police said a 28-year-old man drowned Saturday night in the Guadalupe River near Guene.A man drowned in the Guadalupe River near the historic town of Gruene on Saturday evening, police reported.
New Braunfels police and firefighters were dispatched to the 1400 block of Gruene Road at 6:05 p.m. in response to a report of a possible drowning. Police said a 28-year-old man had been swimming in the river near the Gruene River Bridge when he went under and did not resurface. After about 20 minutes, paramedics managed to locate the man and pull him from the water.The drowning appears to be accidental, police said. An autopsy is [email protected]
