Houston man dies in apparent suicide after spending months with decomposing body, sheriff says

The sheriff's office received a call for a welfare check on the home in the 16800 block of Kilwinning Drive, When deputies entered the home to investigate, they heard a single gunshot, Gilliland said. They then located the bodies of two of the home's residents, both in their 60s. One appeared to have been dead for several months, and another deputies believe died from a self-inflicted gun wound as the deputies were entering the home.
