'Confusion' caused by 'errors' in the control room meant officers were sent to the wrong location
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has found police made vital errors in their search for a man walking along the A45 near Wellingborough, who later died after he was hit by a car.
READ MORE: Historic Wellingborough pub to reopen next week as an 'old traditional British pub' five years after closing The IOPC also found police staff had a "level of anxiety and concern around receiving reports of this nature involving fast roads, and particularly inputting locations on the systems correctly." The investigation found that no specific training was given to staff in relation to major/ fast roads.
