An Adams County man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the death of former girlfriend who was moving out of the residence they had shared when she was shot.
. Aschenbrenner was also convicted of second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder after a five-day trial.
On Nov. 27, 2021, Medina, with the help of her father, was moving out of a residence she had shared with Aschenbrenner when she was shot, according to the news release.and Aschenbrenner fired three shots at the vehicle, which was across a street from where the father’s truck was parked. The pair fled in the Audi and Aschenbrenner followed in his vehicle, catching up the Audi and firing more shots, the release said. A bullet hit Medina in the hip, she later died at a hospital.
“This was a deplorable and cowardly crime,” said District Attorney Brian Mason, in the release. “The defendant’s actions took a life and destroyed countless others.” Aschenbrenner, who remains in custody at the Adams County Jail, is scheduled to be formally sentenced on April 13.
