A 25-year-old man is in critical condition after being rescued from Lake Washington in Seattle's Leschi neighborhood.Health officials say a 25-year-old man is ‘clinically dead’ after being rescued from Lake Washington in Seattle'sAccording to the Seattle Fire Department, rescue crews were called to reports of a man struggling in the water near Lakeside Ave S and S King St. He fell underwater for five minutes, when around 10 Good Samaritans jumped into the water to pull him to shore.
Officials say the man was in critical condition when they took him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not specify the nature of his injuries—whether he took in water, was unconscious, suffered exposure or hurt himself in the water. Officials declared the man ‘clinically dead’—meaning blood flow and breathing are not occurring, the two main signifiers of life, though he could still technically be alive. They confirmed he got his pulse back, but it could be anywhere from 3–5 days to check on brain activity.
