City wait on Bernardo news Bernardo Silva will be assessed at Manchester City on Thursday amid early hopes over the injury.
Pep Guardiola pulled the Portugal international out of the Champions League tie with Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday night before half-time, with Jeremy Doku taking his place. Silva will be looked over to determine the extent of his problem, but the early indications were that the injury was not serious and he may not be out for long at all. The City summer signing has already surprised Guardiola at the club with a storming performance to help them come back and beat West Ham in just his second Premier League start. Doku's pace is a throwback for the Blues to when Leroy Sane rampaged down the wing in the team that won back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019. The 21-year-old completed more dribbles than any player in the top five European leagues last season at Rennes and completed more take-ons than anyone bar Vinicius Junior and Lionel Messi. When Doku has the license to run at defenders, as he had at West Ham, he is going to cause problems.
