Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor believes the club's opening result won't determine their final place the end of the season
Manchester City kick-off their Women’s Super League campaign with an away tie against West Ham on Sunday, October 1.
Manager Gareth Taylor said: “Of course, you want a good start, there's no doubt about that and there are no easy starts so to speak. If you look at Chelsea in the last three seasons when they won the league they lost the first game on every occasion so it's not about where you start, it's about where you finish.”
Taylor said: “Continuity is something that I’ve not really experienced in terms of a settled squad in the seasons that I've been here. Now, finally, we’ve definitely got that in terms of this squad. “She’s a really good signing for us, one we’re really pleased to have and we look forward to having Jill for the next two or three years, and taking us to new levels, hopefully."
Former Citizen Caroline Weir suffered a dreaded ACL injury in the international break, but Taylor assured his current roster was in ‘good spirits’. “We’ve literally had a couple of days of preparation for the game. It's not ideal. So there's a couple of little niggles. Bunny [Shaw] was one of them.
