On Friday morning, a police vehicle remained parked in front of the house across the street while another was blocking off access to one entry to the back alleyway. Police tape surrounded one house and extended into the front yard of another.
A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with the homicide of a 63-year-old woman in Saskatoon’s Nutana neighbourhood. Saskatoon police responded to a home on July 20, 2023 around 5 p.m. in the 800 block of 10th Street East and found the woman’s body. With help from Saskatchewan RCMP, a 62-year-old man was arrested in the Saskatchewan community of Mistusinne, a resort village located about 142 kilometres south of Saskatoon near Douglas Provincial Park.
Neighbour Nav Sahota said he has lived for two years on the same block where the house was surrounded by police tape.“Everyone’s super friendly around here.” Seeing police around is very unusual, but it doesn’t change how he feels about the area, he said, adding he heard about what happened on the news and it seemed to be an isolated incident.Article contentMistusinne Mayor Lloyd Montgomery said in a phone interview that he personally saw three RCMP vehicles at a house in the community between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Thursday. He said police were at the house for about three hours.
“ didn’t hear a thing, mind you. Our village is always super quiet, so I didn’t hear anything at all,” he said.“Very quiet little community, not much ever happens here,” he said.
