A man has appeared in court after police launched an investigation into reports of vehicle crime in Darwen.
Damon Fielding was charged with vehicle interference last week and appeared at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Friday April 21. The 28-year-old, of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to the offence. Fielding will return to the court on June 2 for a trial. The charge comes after police called for the public's help, in a press release, following "a spate of vehicle crime across all areas of Darwen". Officers appealed to members of the public to submit any potential evidence, including doorbell camera footage, of any suspicious activity.In a release issued by Lancashire Constabulary after Fielding was charged the force said: "We are aware that a number of offences are going unreported at this point in time for various reasons.
