A man has been arrested in the Royal Mews area at Buckingham Palace. Scotland Yard said officers at the royal residence responded to a person climbing the wall and entering the Royal Mews at about 1.25am on Saturday.
Following a search, a 25-year-old man was detained outside the stables. He has been arrested under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act on suspicion of trespassing on a protected site and has been taken to a London police station.The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is responsible for all road travel arrangements for The King and members of the Royal Family, from horse-and-carriage to car and from livery to harness.
It os home to the iconic 260-year-old Gold State Coach, used at State occasions such as Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953, the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and King Charles III Coronation in 2023.
