Chorley man ambushed by crowbar wielding balaclava gang in his own home
A gang of masked men wielding a crowbar broke into a man's home home and assaulted him in a terrifying robbery.
Three balaclava-clad thugs forced their way into the address on Wigan Road, Euxton, at 8am on Wednesday and attacked the man before stealing money. They then fled in multiple vehicles and are believed to have travelled along Euxton Lane towards the M61 motorway. The victim, a man in his 50s, is not thought to have been seriously injured but was subjected to a "terrifying ordeal", police said. An investigation is underway with enquiries ongoing to identify the offenders. Police are today appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“I would also appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area in the days or weeks before yesterday to get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 0213 of September 21. Alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
